3. What are the problems that India is facing with her neighbouring countries i) Pakistan  ii) Sri Lanka?
            The problems India is facing with Pakistan are –
·         Pakistan’s claim over Kashmir
·         its support to terrorist groups operating in Kashmir
·         disputes over land border and sharing of river water
·         Pakistan’s military agreements and armament programmes

            There are no major problems with Sri Lanka but the demand of the Tamils of Srilanka for a separate state has resulted in large-scale violence there. Whenever there is an escalation in this it creates problems for India.

4. Has the foreign policy of India is successful. Justify.
            After the Second World War, India adopted the policy of Non-alignment. She decided to take an independent stand on all world issues. This policy has helped India to maintain friendly relations with all the nations of the world and helped to reduce tension and conflict in the world. It has helped to pursue the policy of peaceful co-existence.
